Project Rose Creek Updates

Updates, updates, updates.... don't you love them?  I have been hard at work with #ProjectRoseCreek (as I have been calling it on instagram) and wanted to share a few snippets with you today.  This is the new build project I have been working on.  I know most people might be bored with the millwork and behind-the-scenes action, and prefer the pretty final reveal- BUT, that's not how it works! So much time goes in to a new build and the process is dirty before it is pretty.  You dig?

First off... the fireplace and mantle piece were installed in the living room.  The living room has a 40' ceiling, so I felt a mantlepiece added height to the fireplace and drew your eye upward.  The mantle piece will eventually have an antiqued mirror in the center.  This is the view of it from the second floor looking down:

And here's the front view:

Cabinetry in the kitchen and office have been installed, and just need to be stained and finished:

The library built-ins have a bead board backing that will be painted:

The master bath tile has been installed as well.  The feel of the bathroom is going to be very "glam", with mirrored-front cabinetry and 12"x12" Carerra marble tile flooring with mica flecks. This particular marble was sourced from Turkey :

For the shower flooring, we chose New Ravenna statuary Carrera penny rounds:

The shower walls are 6"x12" Carrera marble with mica flecks, from the same stone used for the bathroom flooring:

Still so much to do, but I love taking time to enjoy the process- and wanted to share it with you!  I hope you like it.

Stay tuned for week 2 of "The One Room Challenge" tomorrow!
