Oh, Tom

Hola chicas!  Did you have a lovely weekend?  I went back home to OKC for a friend's wedding celebration, which was beautiful.  Is there anything better than seeing a best friend sublimely happy and in love?  I think not. The only thing not-so-lovely is my sore back from driving 7 hours yesterday back to Houston.  But enough whining- on to something chic.  That would be designer Tom Scheerer.  I am sure you have seen his coffee table book that was released last fall, or at least eyed a few of his beautiful interiors in one of the many shelter mags he's been published in.  The man is living the life.  He works part of the year designing in NYC, and the other part of the year designing and relaxing in Harbour Island, Bahamas.  The two distinct cities and lifestyles translate in to a relaxed, yet tailored, aesthetic with plenty of whimsy:

His rooms feel decidedly "undecorated," as the NY Times so eloquently explained: "As  a decorator, he has forged a career doing rooms that are relaxed to the point of being hard to categorize as decorated; this is the idea, an observation he would take as a high compliment."

How fun is this map wallpaper in his Rhode Island home?

Why hello there, Tom. Lookin good for 58.  Meow.

Check out his portfolio for more gorgeous inspiration, and buy his coffee table book here!

P.S. - I am thrilled to be guest posting on Lauren Nelson's blog (formerly the Girls of Lincoln Park) today!  Show Lauren some love and check out the post here!  XOXO
