Here we are, 5 years later! Not much has changed, and yet everything has changed. I've been back in my hometown of Oklahoma City, OK, since the spring of 2020, when Covid-19 hit and swiftly ended my NYC chapter. I've loved my time at home, enjoying a slower pace of life and being closer to family and childhood friends, which has done wonders for my nervous system. I bought a house, got my first puppy, a gay goldendoodle named Franklin, added some incredible, down-to-earth friends to my inner circle, and have grown and developed a lot as a person.
I stopped blogging in 2020, mainly because I could feel the zeitgeist moving away from blogs or any sort of content that couldn't be readily consumed in 5-15 seconds. Pulling together and researching content for my blog took a good amount of time, and honestly, I was exhausted with it.
However, I've noticed over the past year that I've been craving writing again. It's very therapeutic for me. I love sharing what's going on in my life and what's inspiring me from day to day. I'd like to believe there are still readers out there who might want to follow along, but I am also okay if this next venture ends up being a personal journal of sorts. ;)
I've recently decided to relocate to Austin, Texas, for a myriad of reasons, which I'll discuss and explore with you over on my new Substack, The Curated Becoming. I'll also share any and all current obsessions, inspirations, growth moments, what I'm reading, how I'm practicing self-care, what I'm meditating on, additions to my skin care routine, etc. etc. It'll be both the frivolous and the real, authentic, juicy stuff. So, please subscribe to my new venture, and let's keep this party going!
XOXO,
Sam
