Wanting, Loving, Needing: An Hermes Avalon Blanket

It never fails.   I'll be browsing interiors or designers online, and suddenly I see it- that beautiful piece of wool- with the classic H....and I swoon.  The Hermes Avalon blanket, priced at $1,300, is a luxury I'll probably never be able to justify personally, but I dream of the day a future client allows me to incorporate it in to their design:

Have to have it?  Purchase it here.  And then invite me over to see the beauty in person.  I wouldn't dream of breathing/eating/drinking near it, but I will admire it from afar.  :)

  1. I have an idea! Buy one but write it off as a business expense- by using it in every photo shoot of your projects. LOL! it could work right? (I may or may not have thought a lot about this)

  3. I have to admit that I don't understand the appeal of the Hermes blanket at all. It isn't even very pretty. There are so many other blankets/throws that are much more attractive. Do you want it because it's a status symbol?

    1. Hmmm I have to respectfully disagree with you here- I personally think it is extremely attractive. I think that just like any other luxury item- a designer bag, a nice car- it's the superior quality that sets it apart.

    2. I'm not a big fan of designer goods with initials on them, however, I made an exception for this blanket because my last name starts with the letter H!

  4. It's the graphic nature of this piece that makes it so interesting as well as the quality. I once found some old railroad blankets the an insignia on them and they were just as interesting and almost as expensive!

  5. Wouldn't it be nice??? I'm with you though, I don't know if I could justify it to myself. I can just see a guest coming over who has no idea it's value and totally spilling on it or using it (God forbid, lol)

  9. It's funny you would have a post on this exact blanket today. I just got home from wine with girlfriends and announced to them that I was going to purchase this blanket! I'm obsessed with it. It shows up on any page that my eyes land on. I'm going to be thrilled when this happens. I can't wait to drape it over the back of my sofa. I'm glad to see that someone else feels the same way. Blanket love!!!

  11. I'm obsessed with the Avalon blanket. I love how Jessica Waks styled it (5th picture down). Who wouldn't have amazing dreams surrounded by Hermes and Missoni? :) Thanks for sharing even more Avalon blanket eyecandy!

  12. I went to buy it but when I picked it up I was surprised that it wasn't much much softer. I would never use it as a blanket but just throw it over the sofa and I couldn't justify buying it if I didn't love it.
