Quadrille Moment

Going to the D&D Building in NY is one of the best parts of being a designer. Perusing floor after floor of beautiful fabric, wallpaper, furniture and decor showrooms could keep you occupied for days.  Although it's impossible to pick a "favorite,"  the showroom that makes me feel the happiest is Quadrille.  All of their collections include bright, happy splashes of color and interesting, graphic patterns.   My favorite print of all by Quadrille is Bali Isle.  I love the movement and whimsy of it.  Bradley of Luella & June recently wallpapered her powder room in the purple colorway, and I love it!

Designer Lindsay Coral Harper also used the Bali Isle pattern in her Upper East apartment bedroom.  I love the navy against her chartreuse headboard:

Although Quadrille fabrics and it's associated lines (Alan Campbell, Home Couture, China Seas, Cloth Paper) are often bright and bold, they also offer more subtle colors- like the soft blue Magic Garden wallpaper Ashley Whittaker used in this nursery:

A few other patterns by Quadrille that I love-

Henriot Floral Turquoise on Ecru, used here by Christopher Maya on this bedroom's drapery and headboard:

And here as a kitchen roman shade by Megan Arquette:

One of my favorite ways to upholster a chair is to use a different fabric on the seat back than on the front, like Ashley Whittaker did on these Louis XVI dining chairs.  She used a custom color in the Volpi pattern

Quadrille's Kazak wallpaper paired with a high gloss blue door creates a bold statement in this entry:

One of Quadrille's most popular patterns is Java Grande- the small repeat is perfect in this powder bath:

And lastly, my own humble "Quadrille" moment in my tiny NYC apartment bedroom- I used Nomad in Lime on the seat cushion of my chair and when making my shower curtain/cornice box (I have Liven Up Design to thank for that):

I share my apartment with 2 other girls but thankfully have my own bathroom.  The shower, as you can see, is pretty dismal.  It probably needs to be re-tiled more than anything, but in the meantime, I wanted to hide it with something pretty.

Go visit Quadrille to see all of their beautiful fabrics and wallpapers.

Happy Wednesday!

XO,

Sam
