Color Crush: Glam Greens

New year.... new me!  Ha, not really, I have been staring at olives in my martini glass and guacamole and chips these past few days,  and all of that green must've gotten me inspired for 2016- from emerald to chartreuse to kelly green to olive, the fresh hue packs a punch.  It's also the color of renewal and rebirth~ perfect for a new year:

From a color psychology perspective, green is known to be the great balancer of the heart and the emotions, creating equilibrium between the head and the heart.  It renews depleted energy, and is an emotionally positive color.  What's not to love?

Color Crush: Emerald 2.0

I mentioned in my Friday worthy links post that emerald will always be my favorite color to wear around the holidays.  It's such a rich, deep color that really makes a statement amongst all the black we're accustomed to seeing in the colder months.  You may recall a few seasons ago, emerald was all the rage.  I even wrote this post and this post before sharing my own personal love for the hue.  That's why I named the post "Emerald 2.0" - because I feel the color is still so chic!  Case in point-

Here are a few of my favorite emerald picks-

Albertina Loves: Emerald Green

So happy to be here again at The Peak of Tres Chic bringing you the second installment of our 'Sam and Albertina love' series.  I'm Albertina from Mimosa Lane, and today, we are getting inspired by Emerald Green, Pantone's color of the year, and I couldn't be more excited because it is my favorite color.  I love it because it is such a fresh and energetic color.  You can't go wrong with the color of nature and life.  It provides a sense of tranquility and balance.

Can anything be richer looking than green velvet?  I think not!  Just a splash of green velvet in any dark and moody room and you have yourself one very powerful space. Doesn't that chair look so comfy? Now, for your wardrobe- an army green jacket really goes with anything, from a formal dress to the casual boyfriend jean.  I love its versatility.  And of course bangles just make anything feminine and pretty!

Hope you are inspired to add something green to your home or your wardrobe.  Of course, my favorite way to add green to any home is a good old plant!  Nothing add life to a room than real life!  Happy Tuesday!

Thanks for sharing your take on emerald, Albertina!  I am drooling over that velvet club chair.  Click over to Mimosa Lane to see my emerald picks today!

Just Another ...E M E R A L D... Post

By now I am sure you have heard Pantone announced that emerald is the official color of 2013!  Can we all agree it's a little more versatile than tangerine tango, last year's color?  Emerald can be worn throughout the seasons, and there are a plethora of ways to add in the hue to your decor (malachite, anyone?)!

{Emerald} Green With Envy

With fall upon us and NYFW behind us, it's become clear to me that jewel tones are reemerging this season.  Although interior design tends to adapt to trends a little more slowly than fashion, I can't help but dream of adding some rich emerald green hues to my home.  And it seems I'm not alone~ I've noticed lots of green in interiors lately.  What I love about this color is it's ability to make a bold impact while still evokes a calm, natural feel to a space.

Emerald greens are rich and regal, while kelly greens create a more playful vibe.  I love to see shades of kelly green lacquered!

If you aren't bold enough to lacquer your walls in a rich kelly green, perhaps a console or curtains would be more up your alley?  Pair it with a gold faux bamboo mirror, and you've created instant chic!

If you're craving a little more emerald in your life like me, here are a few items I have my eye on to do just that...
