Monday Morning Inspiration: The Raleigh Hotel

Happy Monday my dears!  Did you have a good weekend?!  I hope so.  I am loving summer, but I'm also definitely feeling a bit of wanderlust lately.  When I came across an image of this stunning pool on Pinterest, I knew it fit the bill for my next getaway.  I had to discover where this gorgeous gem of a watering hole could be found.  Upon further research, I discovered it's located at the The Raleigh Hotel in beautiful South Beach, Miami:

Originally designed and built in the 1940s by architect L. Murray Dixon, The Raleigh Hotel is a glamorous display of Art Deco style.  

Although The Raleigh Hotel already seems pretty swoon-worthy, Tommy Hilfiger recently purchased the property and plans to give it a zhush.  He recently shared his plan for the hotel:  "The Raleigh Hotel is a true Miami Beach treasure with sophistication and style... the 1940s design of The Raleigh and its rich history are central to our plans to rejuvenate the property."

Happy Monday!   After a crazy weekend, I needed to see soft colors and rustic details today.  I chose to reflect soft blues, greens, and whites with black details:

After seeing this kitchen on Houzz, I'm dreaming of green cabinetry with gold hardware.  To me, green+gold is such a luxe combination.  

Send me good vibes as I work up the courage to share a rather personal post later on this week.  I have been processing something for a few weeks and think I'm about ready to put it in to words.

Monday Morning Inspiration: From Sadie + Stella

Good Monday Morning to all of you Peak of Tres Chic readers! We are Lindsay + Lindsay from Sadie + Stella and could not be more thrilled to be waking up bright eyed and bushy tailed (not) and sipping (chugging) fancy coffee with all of you this morning. You must, must, must be absolute dolls if you are followers of Sam. In our humble opinion, Sam is the ultimate fashionista, decorista and entertainarista (all made up), but I am certain you all are aware of this. It is time to share some major ocular candy on this dreadful Monday morning. Don't worry loves. We will make it ALL better. 

Here are the things that are inspiring us lately, especially this Monday morning.

Glammy, glam travel. As summer is rapidly approaching, we have our eye on the prize. Summer Vacation. Hello. Chevy Chase had it right, aside from the wood paneled station wagon traveling across country. We are totally down for travel, but Glamour Travel. 

There is something about a clean, crisp and white decorated space that gets us going. To those of you who thought white was stagnant, cold and sterile...false. Think again. We are totally adoring white, yet cozy spaces. 

As we are all WELL aware, warm weather and sun are making their way to the present. What better way to be clad, than backless fashions. I may have to be doing some exercises to pull these pieces off, but it will be done. 

Who likes to party? What better way to celebrate the Spring/Summer seasons than throwing a Garden Inspired Soiree. Styled with all of the perfect elements: bright colors, bold florals, feminine touches, tea sandwiches and perfect pastries. 

We hope that we have made Monday morning a bit more bearable and glamorous. We loved sharing our current inspirations with you Sam, and of course you lovelies. Thank you so, so, so much for being with us. Come and check us out at Sadie + Stella for more and more and more. Loves!

Monday Morning Inspiration: From Because It's Awesome

good morning, all! tobe here from because it's awesome, super honored to be visiting sam and all of you for a little monday morning inspiration. i have to say that because it is always so go, go, go around here, i feel like my days tend to blur together. so monday doesn't really get any kind of special treatment. that said, i love that sam asked me to participate in her series, because it really made me sit down and think about what an ideal monday might look like in my world. probably something like this:

admittedly, i have a hard time working a fitness routine into my schedule. while i would be happy with 2-3 days per week, i tend to be a creature of habit, so it would have to be an all or nothing thing during the work week. i would love to start my mornings just before sun up while it feels like the city is still sleeping for a good run or yoga session.

once i've gotten my metabolism in high gear, it would be a dream to spend my cool down time with a cup of freshly brewed coffee and some breakfast (oatmeal with slivered almonds and a pinch of brown sugar for me, please), pouring over the morning's paper (online, of course), visiting my favorite blogs or, on warmer mornings, sitting on the back patio for a few minutes of solace before starting the day.

i'm lucky to take one of the city's most beautiful roads to work every morning, so i wouldn't change a thing about my morning commute! unless it were the luxury of a chauffeur so i could enjoy the view that much more :)

after wrapping up an inevitably productive day (this is an ideal monday, right?), i can't help but turn my focus to the house, which my husband and i moved into six short months ago. decorating has been a sloooow process with such a busy schedule, so the idea of stopping by some of my favorite antique and home decor shops on the way home is a definite must!

while i can't say that i have taken much joy in cooking in the past, i'm warming up to the idea more and more (thanks, pinterest!). having the time to prepare a healthy meal over a glass of my favorite wine doesn't sound too shabby to get the perfect monday evening started!

Monday Morning Inspiration: From Ashley Nicole Catherine

Hi, everyone! This is Ashley of fashion and lifestyle blog, ashley nicole catherine. I'm so excited Sam asked me to guest post and share some of what inspires me! Sam's blog has become a daily read and I've come to love her "boudoir of the day" features. I got to thinking about what inspires my blog posts and i realized you only have to look as far as my pinterest boards. What did I do before pinterest?? For those who follow ANC, you probably know that my fiance, J, and I have just over a month until our wedding! We are so so excited and I've been sharing wedding details about our big day along the way. I genuinely love all things wedding-related and have found such inspiration through beautiful weddings.

Because ANC started as a fashion blog, fashion and style still remains a big topic on the blog. Even though I shop for a bargain and mix investment pieces with super affordable pieces, I draw a lot of inspiration from runway shows. My favorite designers/labels include Karl Lagerfeld, Oscar de la Renta, Marchesa, Elie Saab, and Jenny Packham.

One of the reasons I decided to branch out from just fashion posts on ANC is my interest in interior design. I love beautiful places and spaces and with creating our registries and dreaming about buying a house, I can't get enough of design and decor! I've even been stowing away ideas on my future girl cave board for a feminine room that I'm insisting exists in our dream home.

Monday Morning Inspiration: The Urban Slant

Bonjour Peak of Très Chic-ers! Julia here from The Urban Slant sharing some Monday morning inspiration with you. Usually, I like to see Monday as a fresh start to your week. You can start off with a clean slate at work, make a new to-do list, and stay optimistic you'll have a good week. 

But, sometimes when Monday rolls around, I need some fresh inspiration to get me through the week. Like now when the weather in NYC is less than desirable, and I have a crazy week ahead.

So let's play a little game, shall we? 

Let's pretend that I won the $640 Million Mega Millions jackpot on Friday. 

Fun right?

If I had fallen into this large sum of money, here are the first things I would do...

1. Set 2/3 aside and do NOTHING with it.

2. Pay off my parent's house so they always have a place to live.

3. Donate a large amount to the American Cancer Society in memory of my Grandparents.

I believe that you should always think of others when you inherit, make or have a lot of money. 

But, since this is a game, I'm going to be a little selfish and make some impulse purchases.

Purchase a private jet so I can travel at my leisure, and in style.

Monday Morning Inspiration: From Just My Type

Hello hello pretties! i'm ann michele from just my type, and i'm so excited to share with you today. sam and I not only share a love of the blogging world, but we also are good friends through our church here in houston. now enjoy and be inspired!

i'm going to let you in on a little secret... i detest mondays. it's a cruel reminder that your weekend-o-fun is over and that it's time to resume the daily grind. now please know that i'm a very joyful person who loves glitter and sunshine just as much as the next girl, but i struggle with starting my week off right. even in college when they gave us t-shirts that said 't.g.i.m.' for 'thank God it's monday' claiming we should be so excited to go to work doing what we love, i purposefully would wear the shirt on fridays just to protest the very idea : )

but have no fear, i have found a solution!! (imagine me wearing a cape here) i treat myself on mondays. it's the only way i can sanely get through the day with a big smile on my face. so here are 7 ideas of how to treat yourself when you have a case of the mondays: 

download your favorite to your iPad or pick up one on your lunch hour!

shoes, throw pillows, music, or candles... shopping doesn't have to break the bank.

pinterest is great for finding new ideas of tasty creations!

pack up the car with a picnic and find the perfect spot! (even if it's with a friend)

try a new place for lunch! that break in the day will help monday speed by even faster!

i happen to love bubble baths, but do whatever that helps you get to your happy place.
