Not Your Grandma's Tile + Bathroom Update

You guys- I have a new obsession.  In today's day and age, tile and countertop options are endless.  However, I must say I haven't truly fallen in love with a mosaic or decorative tile company until now.

New Ravenna Mosaics  is a designer and manufacturer of stone and  glass mosaic tiles for both residential and commercial installations. The company’s products are handcrafted mosaics that are fashioned into decorative borders, murals, field tile and medallions.   You have probably seen their work floating around pinterest and on various design blogs...

You must know my metallic-adoring heart jumped when I saw the image above.  This mosaic is pamir jewel glass in quartz and mirror in an ikat-inspired pattern.
Other favorites:

I love this geometric backsplash for a clean kitchen look.

I came across New Ravenna when searching for a special backsplash and shower tile for my parent's new home.  The entire aesthetic of the house is clean, without a lot of fuss or frills, but I felt the one place to go a bit more glam was the master bath.  Here's the look we're going for:

The cabinets will be mirrored with nickel pulls and nickel faucets.  There will also be a freestanding tub.  We decided on this one from Baths of Distinction:

We are on the hunt for the perfect mosaic for the shower wall and floor.  This is the one I am thinking would be perfect for the shower wall focal point:

And for the shower floor, I am thinking Ganesha's "Silk Road" pattern:

There are so many beautiful options, though, that for once I am having trouble making a decision!  If you want to spend some time drooling, be sure to check out New Ravenna's collection.  Serious eye candy.  And have a fab Tuesday!!

Hollywood Regency Style

Happy Monday!  I hope you had a blessed Easter and a lovely weekend.  I cannot say enough how touched I was by your support and kindness regarding my post this past Friday.  Reading each of your stories and comments made my day, and encouraged me in the best way possible. Thank you, thank you!

This past weekend I worked on a few E-Design projects for clients looking to revamp their homes.  One client had a very glam aesthetic already flowing in her cute bungalow.  However, she was looking for a bit of help in her living room.  There were a few areas that needed additional seating.  I set off to find gorgeous Hollywood regency style chairs and accessories within her budget.  Here is some of my inspiration...

Monday Morning Inspiration: 50s Girly Glamour

In case you missed it, February's issue of Elle printed a 50s-inspired editorial full of classic girly glamour.

The seductive silhouettes pay homage to sultry classic beauty a-la Grace Kelly and Elizabeth Taylor.  To say this editorial filled me with delight would be a massive understatement.

A 50s-inspired aesthetic seems to be among many collections this spring. Designers are expanding the aesthetic from the simple, clean lines of cinched-in boxy jackets with below- the- knee full skirts first introduced by Christian Dior in the early 1950s. (See this post for more on Dior).   Using this spread as inspiration, I collected my favorite feminine spaces full of soft pinks, florals, and June Cleaver-esque interiors for your viewing enjoyment.

Heavenly White

Lately I have been using fashion to influence my interior designing, and using pretty home interiors to inspire outfits!  I am sensing a new post series coming upon me.....
Today I wanted to share how a photo I came across conjured up all kinds of decor ideas for the bedroom.
{Photo via The Gamourai}

This photo has a celestial, almost heavenly feel to it.  The models are wearing neutrals, and give off almost a very real glow.  There is a simplicity and grace, but also a feminine glamour appeal.

Don't these bedrooms give off such an ethereal, serene feel?  So different from my usual design palette, but beautiful nonetheless!
