A Girly Haven by Sadie+Stella

Hi my Peak of Tres Chic lovers! I am Lindsay from Sadie + Stella and I am so glad to be sharing some pretty with you. I have such mixed emotions today. I am so thrilled to be spending the day with you lovelies but I am also green with envy that my adorable friend Sam is sunning herself and sipping alcoholic beverages on the beach. What a snob. Just kidding. Love you Sam!

I am totally jonesing for some girly, girl interiors lately. And I have to say, this room fits the bill like woah.

I mean who doesn't want to recreate this look?!?! I mean much better than being on some stupid beach, right? Let's get the look.

Believe it or not, this room does have another side. Get that look too.

Are you all in love with the frills as much as I am. Definitely a "woman grotto." My interpretation of the gag worthy "man cave." I so enjoyed sharing my jealousy of all things vacation-like with you darlings today. Come and visit me at Sadie + Stella! Loves!

The "Girl" Cave

I often hear men proclaim that they would love to have a man cave.  The one place that they could call their own- leather sofas, big screen TVs, football helmets lining the shelf, and Bruce Springsteen on the ipod player.  They would be "safe" from any feminine details.  Personally, I'd love to have my own "girl" cave!  A place safe from any men, where couches were chosen simply on their aesthetic rather than comfort, coffee table books spilling out of every shelf, lots of lacquer, lucite, mirrored furniture, and of course- pink!  There would always be Sofia champagne available in those cute pink cans, Grey Goose, and many other tasty expensive liquors. Here's what I am envisioning:

Now, won't you come join me for a cocktail in my "girl" cave??

My Boudoir

Hello, lovelies!  Happy Thursday.  I hope you are all having a lovely week.  As you have probably noticed, I have begun a new feature called Boudoir of the Day.  Each day (typically at 7 pm CST) I post an image of a bedroom that features good design and inspires me.  I love to glimpse in to a person's "everyday" life and a bedroom can be very telling.  Today I wanted to share a few snapshots of my own boudoir.  Because I live alone, I have free reign when it came to the style of my decor, so obviously I created a very feminine and glamorous aesthetic.

{Bedside Table- local find, Lamp- DIY'ed from Hobby Lobby}

{Bed: Sanctuary Bed, Trellis Pillows: via Etsy shop Pop o' Color, Bolster Pillow: Bella Notte}

{Bedside Table: High Fashion Home Frame (old): Urban Outfitters}

I hope you enjoyed a peek in to my "happy place."  If you would like to have your own bedroom featured on a future "Boudoir of the Day" post, please email me at sam.e.penner@gmail.com!

Monday Morning Inspiration: 50s Girly Glamour

In case you missed it, February's issue of Elle printed a 50s-inspired editorial full of classic girly glamour.

The seductive silhouettes pay homage to sultry classic beauty a-la Grace Kelly and Elizabeth Taylor.  To say this editorial filled me with delight would be a massive understatement.

  A 50s-inspired aesthetic seems to be among many collections this spring. Designers are expanding the aesthetic from the simple, clean lines of cinched-in boxy jackets with below- the- knee full skirts first introduced by Christian Dior in the early 1950s. (See this post for more on Dior).   Using this spread as inspiration, I collected my favorite feminine spaces full of soft pinks, florals, and June Cleaver-esque interiors for your viewing enjoyment.
